Malaga is the capital of the Costa del Sol, a 25 minute bus ride will get you there, you can catch this along the coast road. Parking is easy nearby and it costs about 1.5 euros each way. You can get off at the port, cross the road and it will take you straight into the old town, or you can go to the bus station and wander through the newer shopping malls. There is a wonderful cathedral, ancient castle, busy squares, beautiful parks and gardens fantastic shops, bustling squares with restaurants/cafe bars and street entertainers. Great for an evening out and the last bus comes back to Rincon about 10.45pm.

Rincon de la Victoria

Torre Del Mar has a lot of atmosphere and local flavour, with numerous shops, restaurants )including some very good fish and seafood restaurants) and bars. During the summer there are bars & discoques which are open until 6.00h every morning. Along the adjoining stretch of the seafront thre is a summer night market and quite oftern music concerts, flamenco dancing and bands. During July and August the town is a lively holiday venue.

Caleta Marina
There is a good restaurant across from the Marina. At lunch time the menu of the day (Menu del Dia) is for three course and great value for money at between 5-7 euros. In the evening the restaurant has superb food, wine and service. We love this restaurant. from the Marina there ae water sports, boat trips to see the dolphins, barbaque boat/beach trips. There is a daily fish market where you can buy the local daily catch and on Saturday the weekly market is on from 9am - 3pm, its best not to arrive before 11am. Its worth a vist the sell just about everything. Best place to park is near the marina, look out for the parrakeets in the trees. When you've done your shopping, go on, treat yourself to lunch.

Aqua Velis Water Park is the largest water park in the Axarquia region of the Costa del Sol and is located opposite the El Ingenio shopping mall at Torre del Mar. It is approx 20 mins away and very easy to find. There are over 20 different rides and also rides for the younger children, one of the pools has a wave machine. It is a great place for a family day out, and even in peak season the park never seems overcrowded. If you go after 1pm the entry fee is reduced quite a lot.
Lake Vinuela do your self a favour, pack up a picnic and have a drive up there. It is about 20 minutes into the mountains there is lots of parking, spectacular walks, plenty of wildlife, fishing( you must have a licence) and just behind the Lake Vinuela hotel there is a BBQ area, which has a water supply. The hotel has a lovely restaurant/cafe where you can enjoy the stunning views from their terraces. Although we have not eaten in the restaurant it does have a very good reputation and is quite reasonably priced.
